Answering the growing needs of Iraqi’s Health Sector

The Government of Iraq is committed to return Iraq to its position as the regional leader in the medical sector through increased investment in education, training and infrastructure. The Ministry of Health has also declared the need for a greater number of skilled professionals, which highlight the demand for advanced education opportunities and access to medical resources. Plans are now underway for complete modernization, including the expansion of healthcare facilities, investment in high quality equipment, a large procurement program and advances in facility management and human resource development.

The Iraqi Ministry of Health allocated about US$ 0.5 billion for investment plans out of its US$ 6 billion 2012 budget. The Ministry declared that it will continue to reach out to foreign companies and investors in a quest to build more hospitals and healthcare centers.
